Pickleball Poker + The Bet Paddle Review

Company Info: Pickleball Poker is a Truly Games, LLC. Company. While Truly Games was started in 2020, the pickleball focus came this year with Pickleball Poker. Their goal is to have an inclusive environment for pickleball. They want to stay social, inclusive, and affordable, while providing products that bring people together to have some fun. Read more on their story and about their offerings at

Item: Today we’re taking a closer look at the Pickleball Poker playing cards and The Bet paddle.

Description: The playing card deck comes in a sturdy packaging with the Pickleball Poker logo present on the front. The cards themselves range from Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks and Jokers. The cards themselves feature a variety of shots on one side ranging from Lobs, Drives, and Shake & Bakes. On the flip side, the cards are black with the Pickleball Poker paddle logo mirrored in the middle. There are 54 cards in the deck and there are instruction cards as well. The game is played during a regular doubles pickleball game with sideout scoring.

The Bet pickleball paddle is all black, with a black paddle face, edge guard, and even grip tape. One side of the paddle face features the Pickleball Poker logo (4 paddles with the suit symbol in the top left). These are outlined very thin and are also primarily black, with the exception of the Diamond and Heart symbols being in red. The flip side has the card suits logos down the left hand side, again in black with red respectively. This side shows The Bet and Pickleball Poker text in white at the base and vertically down the right hand side. Both sides feature the USA Pickleball Approved logo at the base as well.

The Bet paddle is 16MM and features a Raw Carbon Fiber face. It does have a more narrow surface area and would be considered an elongated paddle shape.

Play Feel: The paddle was really comfortable to handle and felt lightweight as well. The grip does not have any ridges and to me that feels the most comfortable when playing. The grip also did have a slightly sticky texture (think Tourna Grips), which I was really fond of.

The paddle feels sturdy when handling, especially during drives or hand battles. It did take me a few games to get used to the narrow feel, but the paddle does have a true sweet spot that would play as expected. I also thought the sweet spot was consistent as well.

The paddle face is not overly textured, but given the material it is easy to put spin on the ball when dinking or driving. After getting used to the narrow face, I thought the softer shots came relatively easy and it didn’t take long at all to get used to playing with it.

Price Point: The paddle and cards combo is currently available on their website for $59.99 total.

Recommendation: I have to admit I was more impressed with this paddle than I anticipated. In all honestly I thought that this may be more on the “toy” side of things, given the card deck combo. However, I was incorrect in that initial thought. This paddle is a high quality and sturdy paddle that played very well. I also think the paddle itself just looks very cool with the playing cards on the front. It gives me some Casino Royale James Bond vibes - you love to see it!

Given the price, I would definitely recommend checking this out. You’ll get a 16MM carbon fiber paddle and card game for only $60, which is a good value in my opinion.

The cards are fun to play while you’re out on the courts and were pretty easy to learn! The cards would make a great gift or stocking stuffer for any pickleball fan. I like how they incorporated certain shots or events into the game so you can play a doubles game in tandem with the card game.

Nicely done, Pickleball Poker, I am impressed! We’ll be tuning in to see what you come up with next!
