Pickle Jungle Lion Series Paddle Review

Company Info: Pickle Jungle is a pickleball company  based out of Naples, Florida. They started in 2024 and are currently offering their first paddle drop, in that of the “Lion Series.” They do monthly paddle giveaways and are currently offering free shipping on their website. Give them a look at www.picklejungle.com.

Item Name: Today we have the Pickle Jungle Lion Series Pickleball Paddle.

Description: The Lion Series pickleball paddle is the flagship series released from Pickle Jungle. The paddle itself features a black base paddle face, which is carbon fiber. The paddle face features a good deal of graphics. At the top, it features the brand name “Pickle Jungle” in red stylized font. This font is the same at the base of the paddle face, with the name “Lion Series” in a gold color with “16 Millimeters” in red below. The USA Pickleball approval logo is in white, below the paddle name.

The paddle face features a lions face artistic graphic in gold and red. At the bottom left of the paddle face, in white, there are 4 claw marks that stretch across the paddle, given a dynamic look.

The edge guard is black and features the wording “King of the Courts” on one side and “King of the Jungle” down the other. The grip is a brown color, with holes for breathability. Handle cap features the lion face graphic as well.

The paddle is a 16 millimeter and is USA Pickleball approved. It features a honeycomb core and a 5.5 inch handle.

Play Style: The paddle itself feels strong and well-balanced when handling. It is not overly weighted in any direction. The handle is a good length and the grip itself is slightly tacky.

The paddle face is textured, but I would not consider it super textured when you run your hand across it. It allows for a good amount of spin on the ball, without being overbearing.

The paddle is clearly quality and holds up well during power shots and hand battles. We did not see any signs of wear in tear or any signs of the graphics losing their color after playing.

I thought the paddle had a great sweet spot from the initial play. I do not believe you would need any lead tape to increase this, as it was solid from the get-go.

You are able to get good pop on your shots with this paddle. I do not believe it is a “power paddle” and would view this as a very solid “all around” paddle in that it is strong in all areas.

Price Point: The Lion Series paddle is available on their website for $149.00, but is currently on sale at the time of writing at $119.00.

Recommendation: At first review of this paddle, I really love the branding and overall style of the Lions Series. I think the graphics are really cool and bring a dynamic look to the paddle itself. I’m a big fan of the brown grip tape, as I think it brings a striking contrast between the paddle colorways.

The paddle plays very strong and as mentioned before, I believe it is a good “all around” paddle. You can definitely hit very good controlled and power shots with this. It has also held up well in the Florida heat.

I would recommend using an overgrip (although we love the current color) just to add a bit more tackiness to the grip if you sweat a lot. At the $149.00 price point I would also like to see potentially a paddle cover with this as well, given how cool the graphics are (would want to have extra protection for carrying in a bag, etc.).

The quality of this paddle is evident right away and if you are looking to step up your beginner paddle, or seek out a new carbon fiber paddle, I would definitely recommend this one. I’d also recommend if you are a collector of sorts, as this paddle looks class! This is an impressive first drop from Pickle Jungle and we will be tuned in for what they drop in the future.
